Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park has an area of about 1,600 squares miles and is Tanzania’s fifth largest park. The park is named after Tarangire River that provides the only permanent water for wildlife in the area. The river is a magnet for wildlife when massive concentrations of elephant, buffalo, wildebeest and zebra congregate along its banks. The most spectacular feature of Tarangire is that it serves as a place of refuge for the largest elephant population in northern Tanzania. This park is also famous for its large collection of baobab trees. It hosts over 500 bird species and is a great bird watching safari destination where you can find the Kori Bustard on dryer grounds or the migratory bird species from Eurasian and North African countries.

Marangu Route is known as the “Coca Cola” route which makes it sound like an easy route to summit. The only reason why it is easier is simply because it is the only route where the accommodation is based in huts as opposed to tents.
