Mafia Island
Mafia is an archipelago of Islands found at the mouth of the Rufiji River Delta. It is mainly known for its Marine Park which was created to protect its reefs. The Island provides the best diving, fishing and snorkelling in the entire region. It is a 30-minute flight from Dar es Salaam. During certain times of the year, on the other side of the Island, whale sharks can be spotted. The island is not as touristy as Zanzibar but it definitely has the best diving.
